Sixth Avenue West Clubhouse seeks Program Director

Program: Sixth Avenue West Clubhouse
Position
: Program Director
Reports to: Executive Director
Location: Hendersonville, NC

Position Summary
Supervises all unit staff:  unit leaders, Qualified Professionals, Associate Professionals, and Paraprofessionals.  Engages individuals with severe and persistent mental illness in the daily work of the Administrative Support/Publications unit, and ensures the completion of all of the tasks and responsibilities associated with that unit.  Assumes a generalist role focused on individualized case management, assessment of strengths and skills, advocacy, intake and referral, employment, housing, education, outreach, and social opportunities.

Responsibilities

  •  Works side-by-side with members and staff, conveying a sense of urgency to maintain all of the tasks and responsibilities within the units.  Ensures that units have adequate staff coverage and steps in to cover a unit if necessary.
  • Communicates directly with the Executive Director to facilitate current agenda and the overall mission of the organization.
  • Encourages communication between all units and staff about relevant issues concerning programmatic changes and direction.
  • Attends public forums and events to strengthen the mission of SAPRP as well as advocate for its members.
  • Works with the Administrative Support/Publication unit to schedule and implement referrals to the program and orientation of new members.
  • Helps members with all case management needs.
  • Ensures that members’ Person Centered Plans are completed in a timely manner.  Monitors all authorizations and communication with LME and Medicaid regarding these authorizations.
  • Monitors staff requests for time off to ensure the Clubhouse has adequate staff on a daily basis.
  • Acts as a liaison between the Clubhouse, its members and the outpatient office, ACT team and outpatient psychiatrist.  Informs psychiatrist of progress, needs, issues that members may be experiencing.
  • Consistently works to maintain the Clubhouse philosophy and to ensure that members and staff are building positive healthy relationships within the work ordered day.
  • Ensures the safety of all members involved in SAPRP
  • Thinks creatively to constantly process the inner-working of the units and the Clubhouse.  Conducts staff meetings to glean ideas, problem-solve, and communicate effectively about issues that affect members.
