The 17th Clubhouse International Seminar will be held October 19-24, 2013 at the elegant Hilton St. Louis at the Ballpark in St. Louis. Independence Center, a Clubhouse International Training Base and host Clubhouse of the Fifth Clubhouse International
Seminar in 1989, will serve as our local host Clubhouse. The members, staff and Board of Directors of Independence Center are eager to share their Clubhouse and community with you. 17IS will be a wonderful celebration of the extraordinary worldwide expansion of the Clubhouse movement!
Visit St. Louis and enjoy immersion in an historic and dynamic city of the American heartland. St. Louis’s role as the Gateway to the West is memorialized in the stunning, soaring Gateway Arch, within an easy walk of our convention hotel. The St. Louis Cardinals may be competing in Major League Baseball playoffs during our conference, and our hotel is little more than a long line drive from Busch Stadium. The world renowned St. Louis Zoo is a must-see for out of town visitors and free to all! Laclede’s Landing – launching point for Lewis and Clark’s Voyage of Discovery -- and the Washington Avenue loft district present a myriad of convenient entertainment and dining possibilities.
The members and staff of Independence Center, the second largest Clubhouse program in the world, are proud to play host for 17IS and will provide tours of its pacesetting facilities throughout the conference. The hospitality that this original training base is known for assures a rich and enjoyable experience, including a full quotient of fun!
The 17th Clubhouse International Seminar promises to offer an exciting and inspiring array of learning opportunities about creating and sustaining strong, effective Clubhouse communities around the world. Plenary sessions, interactive workshops, and exciting social events will provide a compelling forum for the exchange of information and ideas of interest to new and veteran Clubhouses, and others who are interested in our work.
